Clocks shouldn't run 'fast' or 'slow'

I often hear people say that they set their watch or clock 'fast' or 'slow' for some reason. I don't get it. My watch allows me to set it ahead or behind, but I can't alter the speed at which the mechanism runs. If the clock runs at the wrong speed, then just say it's 'broken' and throw it away.

That's a good one, E. Although, if one's watch is indeed 'broken', wouldn't it not run at all? Then if it is running 'slow or fast' maybe one should just say, "My watch SUCKS. It operates at the wrong speed," and then proceed to throw it away. What do you think? LOL

You can just tell everyone that I'm the "people" in this story. Ever think that maybe I've continued to say my clock is running FAST because I know it annoys the crap out of you? :o)
